Link building
Local link building services, from sites that fit your business
We earn links and mentions for home service, healthcare and senior living businesses in the USA and Canada: articles on publications in your industry, local business sites, lists and rankings, and news about your company. We choose each site for its topic first, point each link at a page that brings you leads and list every one in your monthly report. Search engines and AI assistants both use these links to decide which businesses to trust.
The problem
Bigger brands outrank you on the searches that matter
National brands and directories have links from thousands of sites, so they often rank above local businesses when people search for a service in their town. A local business closes that gap with links from the sites that cover its trade and its towns, pointed at the pages for the services and areas it wants more of.
Signs your site needs links
Brands and directories above you
When people search for your service in your town, national brands and directory sites show up first, and your service pages sit on page two.
Links only to your homepage
The links you have point at your homepage, so the service and town pages that bring leads get little from them.
Missing from local lists and sites
Local business groups, suppliers and “best of” lists in your area mention other companies, and not yours.
No record of what you have
No one can tell you which sites link to you, which links were added this year or which pages they point to.
How links work
What links do for search rankings and AI answers
A link from another site tells search engines that the site knows your business. How much it counts depends on the site and on the page it sits on.
Topic comes first
A link from a site about your industry or your area counts for more than one from a bigger site about something else. We choose each site for its topic first and check its authority score second.
Links go to the pages that bring leads
We point links at the service and town pages you want to rank. Your own internal links then pass that strength on to the rest of your site, homepage included.
AI answers read the same sites
When AI assistants name a business, they draw on the publications, lists and local sites that mention it, so each new mention on those sites is one more place an answer can find you. Our AI answer visibility work covers the rest.
What's included
What our local link building services cover
The work runs every month at a pace we agree with you. Your industry, your towns and the pages you want to rank decide which sites we go after.
Articles on industry and local publications
We pitch and write articles for magazines, blogs and news sites that cover your industry or your area. Each one is written for that site’s readers, with one link in the text to the page it supports.
Local business sites
Links from the sites around your business: business associations and chambers of commerce, the suppliers and manufacturers you work with, and the events and teams you already sponsor.
Lists and rankings
We find the local and industry lists, awards and rankings your business qualifies for, and put it forward for each one.
News about your company
Awards, community work, new locations and milestones, written up and offered to local news sites and trade publications.
Citations and directories
Your name, address and phone listed the same way on the recognised directories and data aggregators, as part of our Google Business Profile work.
Links to the pages that bring leads
We agree with you which service and town pages need links first, and change the list as their rankings move.
Every link checked and recorded
Each link is recorded with its date, its site, its type and the page it points to, and checked again every month, so you always have the full list.
Links from your referral partners
The businesses that send you work can link to you from their pages of recommended companies. Where we run your referral partner program, we ask each partner for that link.
Process
How we run your local link building
-
Start from the links you have
At the start of the work, we look at which sites link to you and to the businesses that outrank you, and which of your pages have no links at all. You see the gap before anything changes.
-
Plan the pages and the sites
We agree which pages need links first, then list the publications, local sites and lists that fit each one.
-
Reach out and write
Our link builders contact each site, agree the topic and write the article or the listing. The outreach is done by people, one site at a time, so the pace varies from month to month.
-
Check every link
When a link goes up, we check that it is live, sits in the text of the page and points where we agreed, then record it. Every link is checked again each month.
-
Report every month
Each month you see every new link, its site and the page it points to, and how the linked pages rank.
Reporting
How we report on link building
Each month you get a report for every location: each new link with its site, its type and the page it points to, the links we checked again, and how the linked pages rank in searches that don't use your name. No one can guarantee a ranking, a number of visits or a mention in an AI answer. What we promise is the work, done well, and an honest report on whether it's paying off.

Client words
What it's like working with us
Watch Maxim's review
“We've been working with RomanZ Media Group for 18 years and we just want to say thank you for Profitable Marketing… and for 30 years more”
Watch Segev's review
“…Their dedication and attention to detail is impeccable. They are the best marketing company I tried, and I tried a few. I would highly recommend them.”
Big brands, multiple stakeholders and approvals

“While I was Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy Canada, Roman and I worked together on the Mondelez account. Roman showed technical expertise in SEO while understanding the marketing goals of the campaign. Most importantly, he demonstrated the ability to deliver results while working on a project with multiple decision-makers and stakeholders. If you have an SEO-related project, I would highly recommend them.”
More from our clients
A very professional and dedicated company! Roman and his staff is exceptional and always willing to help and optimize the service provided.
Our company decided to try a new ad campaign to improve our conversion rate. Frankly, I was starting to get discouraged with crazy PPC prices. Roman not only explained all the benefits of different types of advertising but also chose the most effective one for our business. The results of our PPC campaign were good enough for us to sign a long-term contract with them. They are all about ROI.
I needed to create a website for my project, but I didn’t think it would be so difficult to find someone who would provide good service. Roman's team, however, did an excellent job and was right on schedule. Our website is now even better than I had hoped to see. Their work was outstanding!
Hire them to help with the website and YouTube Promotion. After years of working with "music promoters" they were a breath of fresh air. Finally our subscribers started to grow and we could see actual effect of marketing, not just paid views.
FAQ
Questions about local link building services
Do links still matter now that customers ask AI assistants?
Yes. Search engines still use links to rank pages, and when AI assistants name a business, they draw on the publications, lists and local sites that mention it. An article on the right site can count for both. Our AI answer visibility page covers the rest of that work.
What kinds of sites do you get links from?
Publications that cover your industry or your area; local business sites such as associations, chambers of commerce, suppliers and the events you already sponsor; local and industry lists and rankings; news sites that cover your company’s news; and the recognised directories in your industry. Which ones depends on your trade and your towns, and you see the plan before the outreach starts.
How do you choose a site?
Topic first: the site has to be about your industry, one close to it, or your area. Then its authority score, and then the page itself: the link has to sit in the text of an article or a listing, on a page Google has found, and not among dozens of links to unrelated sites. We check each link once it’s up and again every month.
Which of our pages do the links point to?
Mostly the service and town pages you want to rank, because those are the pages that bring leads. Your homepage gets links too, from directories and from sites that mention your business by name. We agree the pages with you at the start and change them as rankings move.
What does link building cost?
Link building is a monthly line in your fee, planned around your own pages and priced by the pace we agree with you. We don’t price or sell links one at a time. Any outside cost is agreed with you first, billed at cost and listed in your report. We quote once we know your industry, your towns and the pages you want to rank. To start, send us your website through the online presence check on this page.
How many links will we get each month?
It depends on your industry, your towns and the pace we agree, and it varies from month to month, because each link comes from a site that agreed to publish it. We agree an average pace with you and report every month on how it went, so some months show more new links and some fewer. Once the first sites have published, the next links usually come more easily.
Can you show us links you've built?
Every link we build points at a client’s website, so we don’t publish them here. Each client sees all of its own links in its monthly report. Dr. Pipe, a drain and plumbing company in Toronto and our client for 18 years, is in our portfolio with its SEO and link building results.
What happens if a link disappears?
Sites change and remove pages, so no one can promise that a link stays up forever. We check every link each month, your report lists any that went missing, and when a link we arranged disappears, we contact the site about it.
We run senior living communities. Is this for us?
Yes. Communities earn links from local news, senior care publications, and the hospitals, places of worship and local groups they work with. Our senior living marketing page shows how we work with operators, and our article on link building for long-term care brands has more ideas.
